The event includes the 1/2 mile straight course and the 1 mile triangle course.

Race Day Information:

  • Check-in stations open at 7:45 a.m.
  • 1/2 Mile Swim begins at 9 a.m.
  • Mile Swim begins at approx. 9:30 a.m., after the 1/2 Mile Swim is finished
  • Awards program follows the Mile Swim

HOTS Sprint Triathlon
Sunday, August 24, 2007 at Noon

Registration Open: Day-of-Race registration only will be open until race fills, parent must be in attendance four younger athletes.

There will be a rolling traffic closures during the race this year.

Kids:
$10 race entry for every child

Adults:
Sprint (Open): $60.00
(until 8/06, then plus $10)
Relay (all categories): $75.00 (until 8/06, then plus $10 per person)

AGE SWIM BIKE RUN
7-9 yr olds 100yds 1.8mi 0.5mi
10-12 yr olds 200yds 3.6mi 1.0mi
13-15 yr olds 400yds 5.4mi 1.8mi
16-17 yr olds 400yds 5.4mi 1.8mi
18 yr & O Half Mile 14.6mi 3.6mi

Kids Tri:
Swim: Safe, supervised, and shallow. Close to shore in Quartermaster Harbor (water temp. has been between 63-67 degrees Fahrenheit in past years).

Bike: Great loop course on the Burton Loop. Low, rolling almost flat.

Run: On the Burton Loop, very gentle run, rolling traffic closure for bike and run.

Adults Tri:
Cannon shots from the historical boat Bounty of Krister starts two age-group swim waves for a half mile salt water swim. The swim is followed by an open course bike ride of 14.6 miles (two hills), and then two gentle laps around the small, but quaint, Burton Peninsula for a 3.6 mile run.
