Level 5
Objective: Athletes continue to consolidate their stroke skills to gain maximum speed. Swimmers work with their coach to develop a training plan that will allow them to achieve peak performance for specific Swim Meets. Drills, interval and strength training continue the focus on building stamina, endurance, and meeting time based goals. Athletes are expected to be swimming over 15,000 yards per week.
This is the highest level at the club for swimmers who have made a serious commitment to the sport.

Expectations: Swimmers will:
Take their potential seriously
Take responsibility for their attitude and performance
Continue to advance their skill level in the four competitive strokes, and associated turns, starts and pull-outs
Achieve time and distance based goals
Put emphasis on interval training and drills
Commit to a regular dry land strength training schedule twice a week, in addition to pre-training stretching
Strive for an even higher precision of stability and efficiency in the water
Display team cohesion and leadership skills
Develop deeper understanding of aerobic and anaerobic training
Mandatory Swim Meet attendance
Advancement: As a swimmer develops, coaches can offer advice about how to take the sport further.
