Goals and Objectives
Overview:  What follows are high-level goals and objectives that apply to all team members.  The coaching staff in collaboration with swimmers and families can look forward to improvement in all aspects of the sport by keeping these goals and objectives in mind.

In turn the Board of Directors can use these goals and objectives to facilitate staff evaluations and utilize the results of goals and objective summaries to drive discussions about program improvement.

1. To increase the commitment to and enjoyment of the sport by providing interesting, fun and challenging workouts as measured by workout attendance percentages in the 90-100% range and meet attendance in the 50-60% range from the calendar period September 2007 to August 2008.

2. To increase stroke efficiencies through the application of stroke improvement training in all four competitive strokes as measured by a minimum of 5-10% average drop in times from the period September 2007 to August 2008.

3. To increase physical conditioning by encouraging regular attendance in practices and meets and through the application of workouts designed to place cardiovascular and muscular demands on swimmers appropriate to their age and stage of development as measured by a 5-10% average drop in times in the period September 2007 to August 2008.

 4. To increase enrollment in VAC in order to achieve “relay ready” status in 50% of the age groups by June 2008.  (“relay ready” means at least four swimmers in each age group ready for relay participation)

5. To increase overall satisfaction in the program as measured by a “scaled” survey where (1) represents a poor score and (5) represents and excellent score, the survey to be executed by parents, swimmers and the period September 2007 to August 2008, the goal being an average score of 3.5 or better in each category defined in the questionnaire.
